The Qadisha valley is scattered with cave chapels, hermitages and monasteries cut from rock. Monastery of Qannoubin. UNESCO as a world Heritage Site now classifies the valley.

Sidon, sea castle - Qana, stone jars described in the Gospel - Tyre, the frist city that had its own church - Tyre Crusader Cathedral - Magdoucheh, the sanctuary of Sayedet el Mantara, or our Lady of Care, dug in the rock.
